Sampling for mold is just as it sounds, using some methodology to collect a “sample” that can be trapped and sent to a certified mold microbiology lab. At Moho Solution we use AEML, Inc. aemlinc.com is accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation for Biological Testing (A2LA Cert #2572.01). AEML, Inc. has state of the art equipment that is of the most recent technology available for fungal spore identification and quantification and has well over 50 years’ experience within the lab testing team.
Moho Solution is the authorized agent for Real Time Labs in Central America and for personal, environment and animal mycotoxin testing.
At Moho Solution we use swab, air and tape sampling in two areas of our work, the first and most common is to ensure that the remediation work has been completed and the environment has been returned to a condition for occupancy. This will include ambient as well as localized air sampling along with tape sampling based on the size and layout of the environment.
The second and less common usage is when an environment is producing negative health symptoms for the occupants, but no mold can be found with non-destructive testing. Sampling protocol is developed to allow our experts to gain further understanding of the environment and eliminate as much of the structure as possible before employing more invasive techniques to find the mold.
Microbiology sampling as a part of remediation will be a part of the remediation plan and scope of work, if required outside of remediation the cost is $65 per sample.
